This is not a criticism of his blog, or even this entry, as you so short-sightedly assume. It's merely paraphrasing the old adage that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. If he wants to post self-indulgent, personal stuff then good on him - it's his blog and he can do what he likes. But at the same time he should shut his fat neck when commenting on the content of other people's blogs unless he's willing to take some of what he dishes out. Otherwise, as stated, he's making himself look a prize arse.
Your fawning knee-jerk defence of someone you clearly don't know the first thing about (not that I do either - but hey, I at least know what his blog habits are) is laughable. I don't know him, his wife or his kids, and I probably never will - consequently I couldn't give a salty toss about reading about them unless they've done something amusing or interesting. That post, however, was as meaningless and devoid of general interest to the masses as a report on what I had yesterday for breakfast. If you think being given an insight into a little personal moment somehow makes you special to each other and all warm and fluffy, then more fool you. It's pointless, unentertaining waffle and something TD himself would probably be all over on someone else's blog.
